Job Summary: Through Safety first, be responsible for supporting purchasing activities to achieve cost targets, and working capital targets for assigned commodity groups and strategic projects, and management of the supply base. Requires a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality. Responsibilities: Qualifications: - Supports the strategic purchasing activities of others. - Develops an understanding of the capabilities of existing supply base to facilitate the day-to-day management of commercial matters. - Participates in cross-functional and continuous improvement activities. - Data gathering, analysis, and report preparation as required. - Execution of assigned purchasing projects. - Prepare purchase orders for supplies and equipment. - Daily purchasing and material expediting, when needed. - Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. - Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials. - Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids. - Recognizes and initiates changes when business conditions warrant it. - Demonstrates a working knowledge of cur...
