Post-Doctoral Fellow ( Job Number: 39685 ) Description: University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department: Anesthesiology: Job Title: Post-Doctoral Fellow: Position #00841545: – Requisition #: 39685 Job Summary: Post-doctoral fellow position available to study role of modulators of T-type (low-voltage-activated) calcium channels in native tissue preparations and in recombinant cells. Our research involves biophysical techniques to measure membrane currents (whole-cell voltage-clamp and current-clamp recordings) from the human embryonic kidney (HEK) cells, dorsal root ganglion neurons and dorsal horn neurons in wild-type rats and mice, as well as mice lacking subtypes of T-type calcium channels. Key Responsibilities: - Perform surgery on rats and mice. - Perform recordings of spontaneous synaptic currents in acute spinal cord slice preparation. - Perform recordings of optogenetically evoked synaptic currents in acute spinal cord slice preparation. - Perform recordings of calcium currents in acute slice preparation, dorsal root ganglion neurons and HEK cells. - Perform recordings of action potentials in acute spinal cord slice preparation. - Perform pharmacological experiment...
