HealthPartners is currently hiring a Software Engineer – Backend Integration & Modernization. This role primarily supports the healthcare claims domain, with future involvement in the administrative systems platform. It focuses on modern service development and system integration, connecting IRIS-based core platforms with modern APIs, services, and user experiences. The engineer works primarily in Java and Spring Boot, and partners closely with IRIS/ObjectScript developers to modernize integrations, convert legacy interfaces, and establish consistent service patterns. In addition to core software development responsibilities, this role supports the integration of AI‑assisted tools into enterprise development workflows. The focus is on applying AI within established prompts, guardrails, and human‑in‑the‑loop validation to enhance development efficiency and understanding of complex systems, while maintaining strong engineering judgment and hands‑on development practices.
