Milk Accountant

Job description

Description The Milk Accountant is responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly dairy accounting tasks and activities. The accountant is also expected to make recommendations to the Controller for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position must meet tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation and financial reporting. Responsible for processing milk receipts and calculating payments based on components and volume - Work independently to support farmer owner questions related to monthly milk payments, assignments, and advances - Assist leadership, in support of company objectives, in developing efficiencies in member relation support through commonly asked questions and standardized report development - Owns timely entry and balancing of daily receipts of fluid milk - Assemble daily milk receipts and usage to create producer lab cards - Verify accuracy of all tickets from milk haulers.
