Department: 60901 Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center - Lab Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hou rs Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM: Pay Range: $20.80 - $31.20 Job Summary: The Phlebotomist II receives orders for laboratory testing, collects blood from patients of any age or status and issues appropriate paperwork to the Floyd lab or outside for processing. He/she maintains the laboratory in an efficient working state and performs lab procedures while ensuring quality control. Major Responsibilities: - Consistently obtains high quality specimens by venipuncture. - Performs special procedures as needed. - Consistently obtains high quality specimens by capillary procedure. - Collects blood cultures with contamination rate below established goal. - Collects timed specimens appropriately. - Collects outpatients in a timely manner with waiting kept to a minimum. - Establishes positive patient identification. - Follows all Continuous Quality Improvement standards. - Ensures timely collection of all specimen by placing advances orders in proper slots on collection board and by collecting stats within - established tur...
