Job description
The Staff Nurse, RN position is a full-time day shift position. The individual will work with an assigned medical provider to provide primary care medical services to eligible students at the University of Tennessee. Direct Patient Care Duties: Educates, teaches, and trains patients as needed - Assesses patients to determine reason for medical visit - Performs assessment procedures as indicated by patient’s symptoms - Initiates nursing preliminary treatment plan by providing assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and formulates a plan of care based on initial assessment - Anticipates medical provider’s needs based on findings - Performs nursing procedures as indicated based on skill level and/or assists the medical provider with examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed - Ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available - Obtains consent forms when indicated - Serves as a chaperone when indicated - Obtains lab results, informs medical provider when results are available - Administers medication as ordered by the medical provider - Make appropriate entries into the patient’s medical record - Assists with emergency medical situations - Scheduling of appointmen...
