Department: Diagnostic Imaging Schedule/Status: Varies; Full Time: Standard Hours/Week: 40: General Description: Under the general supervision of the supervisor of IR or designee of the Radiologist or attending Physician, provides nursing care to patients who are receiving interdepartmental exams or interventional exams. Provides appropriate patient/family members education of procedures. Assists in the education of Diagnostic Imaging staff and cross- train’s additional nursing staff as needed in the Radiology department. Performs on-call coverage as needed. Requirements: - Provides all aspects of therapeutic/diagnostic nursing care based on established standards. Demonstrates competency in all procedures within the scope of nursing practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served evidenced by: The ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; a knowledge of growth and development; and understanding of how to compensate nursing care. - Assists in the performance of all Radiology procedures throughout the Radiology department, including assessing the patient’s status before, during and immediately post procedure.
