The Endoscopy Unit provides total gastrointestinal care. Ninety percent of the patients are outpatient, and the remaining ten percent are inpatients or transfers from another facility. There are approximately 20,000 cases performed in the unit annually. PCA supports procedure room turnover, scope cleaning and recovery, patient escort/liaison, and stocking supplies. Endoscope scope processing is part of the PCA role in the Endo unit contributing to the overall infection control program.
