Position: CONNECT Mentor Department: Student Success & Engagement: Type of Position: Student employee: Exemption Status: Non-Exempt: Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies, 5-12 hours per week Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No: Starting Salary Range: $15.34: Position Summary: The CONNECT Peer Mentor serves as a peer support for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are enrolled in the CONNECT Supported Education Program. The mentor position is key to the success of CONNECT students learning to navigate the campus, learning social skills and becoming connected with the resources of JCCC. Similar positions would include student ambassadors. Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent - Current JCCC student - Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment - Ability to work with students with varying degrees of disabilities - Knowledge of the JCCC buildings and campus Preferred Qualifications: - Six months experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or enrolled in a social service-related field program Position details include but are not limited to: To be considered for this position we will re...
