Job Description JOB SUMMARY: Performs repairs on a variety of vehicles and mechanical equipment under the direction of a skilled mechanic. Assists the skilled mechanic in performing tasks and gains skills through on-the-job training. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any of the following or a combination of more than one: Possession of mechanic tools is preferred. A valid Driver’s License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire. A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six (6) months of hire to operate a County vehicle.Must receive a verified negative test result on a mandatory drug test before starting in this position. Will be subject to random alcohol and drug testing. May be subject to post accident and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing. - Currently enrolled in post-secondary education automotive/heavy truck repair certificate or degree program; - One (1) year of advanced or vocational automotive classes in high school completed; - One (1) year experience working in the automotive or truck repair, welding, or other related industry.
