Job Posting Title: Operating Room Orderly Hiring Department: Dell Medical School Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt from FLSA Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Location: AUSTIN, TX Job Details: PURPOSE The Operating Room (OR) Orderly is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment in the operating room. This role prepares the operating room for procedures, assists with patient transport, and supports the surgical team with non-medical tasks. The OR Orderly reports to the OR Charge Nurse and works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists. RESPONSIBILITIES: Room Preparation: - Cleans and disinfects the operating room before and after procedures. - Sets up surgical equipment and supplies. - Ensures all necessary instruments and materials are available for the surgical team. Patient Transport: - Assists in transporting patients to and from the operating room. - Ensures patient safety and comfort during transport. - Communicates with nursing staff to coordinate patient movement.
