Job description

Under general supervision of the Director of Clinical Engineering, the Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I) is an entry-level technician responsible for the installation and inspection of a wide range of medical equipment and medical equipment networks. The BMET I perform inspections on new equipment, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and supports clinical staff in the safe and effective use of medical equipment. This role requires a fundamental understanding of electronics, medical technology, medical networks and troubleshooting practices. This position requires travel to and from all Atlantic Health sites. Principal Accountabilities: Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control standards, and Joint Commission and regulatory requirements Education: Minimum: Associate’s degree in science or technology (BMET/EET) or military trained (BMET) Biomedical Equipment Technician.
