Job description

The Reg Rad Tech 1 arranges patients for radiological examinations. Produces radiographs (x-rays)/ images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Uses pre-established imaging protocols and departmental policy to perform safe operation of imaging equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. Initially, may require instruction and guidance to accomplish the job and should develop into performing work under general supervision. Reports to Supervisor or Manager. - Clinical skills - Exhibits working knowledge of all Diagnostic Radiology equipment and procedures. - Refers to physician's orders/chart for any special instructions that may be indicated. - Routinely questions the patient before procedure to obtain patient history. - Explains procedure completely to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety. - Performs all procedures in an efficient and timely manner without compromising quality or the mission statement. - Coordinates Radiology schedule with other areas to prevent patient waiting. - Patient/General Safety - Corrects and reports accidents, incidents and safety hazards. - Uses PPE (personal protective equipment)...
