Position Title: Patient Care Technician – Part Time Department: Adult Med-Surg Combination Unit Location: University MPC Shift: Part Time Position Overview: The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) as a non-licensed team member, providing essential direct patient care and supporting the unit’s clinical operations. The PCT assists with activities of daily living, mobility, and continuous patient observation, including suicide prevention, while ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment for patients. Key Responsibilities: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility. Support continuous patient monitoring, including suicide prevention measures. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly patient environment. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Follow established procedures and standards related to patient care activities. Exercise sound judgment and initiative in problem-solving and prioritizing tasks. Adhere to infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
