Job description
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) works collaboratively to improve the quality of patient care and promote desired patient outcomes in a designated population/specialty practice. The CNS functions as a leader within the three spheres of influence (Patient/Client, Nurses and Nursing Practice, Organization/System), and is an active participant in the nursing leadership team. - A Master's degree in nursing with a Clinical Nurse Specialist focus is required. A Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree is preferred. - Experience as a CNS is preferred. - Five years of successful work experience in nursing with two years in the specialty area preferred. - Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient needs and CNS workload. - As a condition of employment, individuals working with addictions services must be free from problematic substance use for a minimum of the immediately preceding two years at time of hire. Licensure/Certification: - Current MN RN license required. - Current MN APRN, CNS license required. - Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association, Red Cross, or the Military Training Network.
