HDD Driller/Locator

Job description

The Driller/Locator is responsible for operating horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment on WesTower sites and projects. This individual works in concert with others to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations are executed in accordance with design specifications. Core Competencies: Safety & Quality Focused: Telecommunications Construction Communication Teamwork Adaptability / Flexibility Problem Solving Accountability and Dependability Attention to Detail Job Responsibilities: - To complete HDD work safely and in accordance with all industry best practices and customer design requirements - Responsible for drill path locating and the operation of HDD units - Must continually be aware of working conditions and not proceed with work if it endangers other workers, customers, and/or the public. - Advises company personnel on equipment service requirements and safety guidelines – and conducts ongoing maintenance that falls within the operator scope - Reads and reviews utility locates for power, gas, telecommunications, and other underground services and applies knowledge and understanding to their safe application. - Delivers quality work to the standard required to satisf...
