The role sets the engineering vision and standards for how analytics models, decision systems, and agentic capabilities are designed, built, deployed, and operated at enterprise scale. This role spans Westpac Intelligence and the agentic data ecosystem , combining hands‑on technical authority with people leadership. The Chief Engineer ensures teams are aligned to a coherent technical direction while enabling rapid innovation without compromising trust, safety, or regulatory integrity. The Data, Digital & AI (DDAI) function defines and executes the division’s data, digital, and AI strategy—partnering with business leaders to unlock value through advanced analytics, responsible AI, and modern digital platforms.
