Job description

The Learning Community (TLC) offers a cohort-based student experience that is informed by Black and African American history and cultural traditions. Committed to the success of all LMU students, the goals of the TLC program are to cultivate leaders, instill community consciousness, and promote academic and co-curricular success at LMU. Under the supervision of Director-level or other senior-level leadership within Student Success & Belonging, the TLC Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing cohort-based programming that supports the engagement, retention, and success of TLC students. This role provides leadership in promoting a sense of belonging among program participants, collaborating with campus partners on programming designed to enhance student engagement and success beginning the summer prior to incoming students’ first year. The Program Coordinator also organizes enrichment activities for each active cohort throughout the academic year, meets regularly with TLC students to ensure meaningful student support, and maintains a database to track student engagement and assessment data to inform program evaluation and process improvement.
