Description The Department of Civil and Systems Engineering ( CaSE ) in the Whiting School of Engineering ( WSE ) at the Johns Hopkins University ( JHU ) is undergoing significant growth and invites applications for faculty positions at all ranks in the area of data science and artificial intelligence (AI). We seek candidates who are advancing foundational AI methods, including machine learning and data science approaches, and who have demonstrated connections between their AI research and civil and systems engineering domains. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research has the potential to enable transformational impact on built and societal systems, including materials, manufacturing, construction, structures, communities and cities, public health, energy, and transportation. This may include data-driven discovery, design, modeling, simulation, decision-making, and/or policy development for sustainable, resilient, and autonomous systems and technologies in CaSE-relevant applications.
