Job description

Purpose of the Position: The HVAC Technician III performs the duties necessary to properly maintain the University’s HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and related controls in campus housing facilities. In addition, he/she performs general maintenance duties when needed. Duties/Responsibilities: - Install and repair air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment and ensure proper operation. - Make daily operational checks of all refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heating equipment to ensure optimum performance. - Maintain equipment by performing preventative maintenance (change filters, check coolant levels, lubricate, oil and grease motors, etc.) - Troubleshoot, order parts, and make repairs as needed. - Calibrate and repair various types of pneumatic and electronic direct digital control systems that operate valves, variable speed motors, boilers, large centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, dampers, and other large industrial and commercial equipment. - Service all heating and cooling equipment between seasons by cleaning boilers, cleaning cooling towers, changing bearings and seals on water pumps, and maki...
