To provide patients with more than they expect. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures as directed by physicians. Verifies correct patient and exam ordered before performing exam and dresses patient appropriately for exam. Elicits pertinent information concerning the procedure and the patient's history from the medical chart and/or the patient. Explains the procedure to the patient. Positions the patient appropriately. Selects the appropriate cassette size and exposure factors. Cannulates veins for administration of contrast material or other medications. A Assists the radiologist/PA during special procedures. Monitors the patient's condition during procedures. Performs DEXA scans. Prepares study to be read by the radiologist: Completes procedure information on the appropriate forms. Writes diagnosis information on the charge ticket when appropriate and types of relevant information into the RIS. Retrieves old studies for comparison when requested....
