Job Summary Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Provider or Registered Nurse (RN) in the examination and treatment of patients to facilitate clinic flow and provide excellent patient care. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and policies; communicates observations to members of the health care team. Essential Functions: - Provides support to facilitate safe, quality patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider, consistent with clinical policies, procedures and department standard work. May serve as a chaperone, an impartial observer during a sensitive examination or procedure. - Provides input in the development of an individualized plan of care. Identifies health maintenance gaps for patients; notifies patients of existing health maintenance gaps. Documents in the electronic health record; documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner. - Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate, including, but not limited to: use of assistive devices for patient mobilization and transfers, hand hygiene, and confirmation of patient using at le...
