Salary: $19.70 per hour POSITION SUMMARY: Performs professional legal work as an intern of the County Solicitor’s office with direct, regular supervision. Responsible for reviewing Right-to-Know requests, researching, and preparing formal responses. Preparing responses to Right-to-Know appeals. Responsible for representing the County at unemployment hearings as well as researching various legal issues and drafting and reviewing policies as assigned. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Functions The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to: - Researching legal issues and drafting memoranda and policies on legal issues. - Representing the County at unemployment hearings. - Attending various legal proceedings. - Drafting legal appeals. - Researching and preparing responses to Right-To-Know requests and appeals - Miscellaneous typing. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - High school diploma or G.E.D. certification from a recognized issuing agency. - Student currently enrolled in an accredited law school who has completed at least three semesters of legal studies.
