Material Control Supervisor

Job description

The Material Control Supervisor leads daily material control and receiving operations, ensuring accurate and timely flow of materials to support assembly, machining, and welding. This role supervises hourly personnel, administers the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), and serves as the key link between materials and shop floor operations. Key Responsibilities: Supervision & Labor Relations: - Supervise material controllers and receiving personnel; assign and manage daily work in accordance with the CBA Administer CBA provisions (overtime, seniority, scheduling, job assignments) fairly and consistently - Address employee issues and grievances; partner with HR/Labor Relations as needed, documenting incidences thoroughly - Coach performance and administer discipline per company policy and CBA - Maintain accurate attendance and timekeeping records Material Flow & Production Support: - Ensure timely delivery of materials to assembly, machining, and welding operations - Oversee line-side replenishment, and kanban systems - Respond quickly to shortages and coordinate material returns/disposition - Support safe and efficient material handling operations Receiving & Inventory Control: -...
