Job Profile Summary: Plans, develops, organizes and directs the day to day functions of the Nursing Services Department. Key Responsibilities: •Participates in the developing, maintaining and updating of the facility's written policy and procedures that govern the day to day functions of the Nursing Services Department. •Completes reports, forms, evaluations, studies, charting as necessary. •Makes written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the operation of the Nursing Services Department. •Acts for the director of nursing services, administrator or assistant administrator in their absence when so directed. •Serves on and participates in committees as directed. •Evaluates and implements recommendations from established committees as they pertain to nursing services. •Assists in determining the staffing needs of the Nursing Department. •Works collaboratively with Human Resources around disciplinary issues. •Works effectively with all departments. •Participates in the development, implementation and maintenance procedures for reporting hazardous conditions or equipment. •Directly supervises staffing coordinator, Nursing Educator, unit secretaries and supervisors. •Plans for a...
