About the Role: Job Summary Performs a wide variety of support services for the department. Provides clerical support by maintaining patient records, unit supplies, equipment, and serving as a facilitator for communications for the assigned area. Performs patient care to adults and normal newborns within the cope of defined practice. Functions as a scrub nurse in the Labor & Delivery operating rooms, and on the unit as a combination of a nursing assistant and unit secretary. This position is under the direction of a registered professional nurse. This position will care for patients in the infant, adolescent, and adult age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.
