Mechanical Engineer II

Job description

As a key member of the Samuel Automation’s Engineering team, you design custom automated manufacturing systems to meet our customers’ manufacturing commitments. You are responsible for designing, selecting and integrating a broad spectrum of components and sub systems. Your specialties may include pneumatics, fluid dispensing systems, vibratory feeders, lasers, vision systems and motion systems. What You’ll Be Doing: - Create custom automated equipment designs to contract specifications and applicable design standards while meeting material budget requirement - Perform engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc. as related to machine and tool designs. - Analyzes drawings, and specifications to determine shape, dimensions, hardness etc. in the development of equipment, processes and products. - Examine feasibility of using one or more machines to carry out sequential operations. - Provide technical direction and support to Machine Builders and Technicians throughout the debugging phase - Mentor junior designers - Work with engineering and project managers to report status, raise issues, and assist where able....
