The Electrician is a Maintenance of Equipment - Locomotive Department position of Transtar’s Union Railroad Company. The Locomotive Electrician is responsible for the inspection and repair of electrical wiring components on locomotives, machinery, buildings, miscellaneous equipment, and appliances in field and shop environments. Job Responsibilities: - Receives instructions regarding work to be done. - Determines materials and required tools for the job. - Inspection, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of diesel locomotives, and mechanical shop equipment. - Communicates written and/or verbal findings of inspections to Supervisor. - Performs inspection utilizing meters, analyzed trouble areas and makes repairs as required. - Performs necessary electrical tests, remov...
