Master Scheduler

Job description

Overview The Master Scheduler is responsible for coordinating patient access and procedure scheduling through the management of incoming referrals, provider scheduling requests, and high-volume patient communications. This role serves as a central point of coordination between patients, providers, and clinical teams to ensure timely and accurate scheduling of procedures and related services. Responsibilities: - Plans and organizes the master schedule providing appropriate coverage for all areas on a daily basis based upon unit needs and patient flow. - Maintains the master schedule, making necessary changes as they occur and determines best options during short staffing periods to provide necessary coverage. - Identifies potential staffing problems and resolves as appropriate or raises issues to the appropriate leader. - May assist with timekeeping functions by maintaining absenteeism, tardiness and other attendance records and staffing statistics. - Attends section meetings and follows up on actions related to the master schedule. - Performs other duties as required or assigned.
