Description Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, invites applications for a tenure track dance position at the rank of assistant professor, which will begin July 1, 2023. The Scripps Dance program has two full-time faculty and several part-time instructors. It offers a B.A. degree with a major or minor in Dance. All Scripps Dance classes strive to place course material in its socio-cultural and historic context. The department seeks a contemporary dance artist with embodied expertise in a non-western dance form to teach dance practice courses and dance composition. The preferred candidate will also have experience in at least one of the following areas: somatics, critical dance studies, or dance technologies. The candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to fostering equity and inclusivity in their teaching, and an ability to make cross-disciplinary connections in their course content.
