Surgical Support Technician (Per Diem)

Job description

Overview Provides support for routine surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of operating room equipment and anesthesia delivery equipment before, during, and after anesthesia. The Surgical Services Technician assists nurses and anesthesiologists in their work related to anesthesia delivery to patients. Responsibilities: Daily room set up for surgery scheduled cases for the day. Restocks anesthesia carts and anesthesia machines. Verifies daily leak testing on anesthesia machines has been completed. Monitors and changes out as needed cylinder gases on back of anesthesia machine and understands safe handling, use and storage of cylinder gases. Stocks anesthesia equipment room. Orders supplies from Surgery Buyer as approved by department Director. Responsible for monthly cart checks for PAR levels and outdates as assigned by Perioperative Clinical Coordinator. Records and maintains daily humidity and temperature logs for all areas of surgery as required per policy. Responsible for sending log information to Engineering department on a monthly basis.
