Job Summary: The Providence Center Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) provides short-term care for patients experiencing an acute psychiatric and/or substance use crisis that could escalate to a point of requiring hospitalization. As an alternative to hospitalization or as a step-down for a transition between levels of care, the CSU’s services focus on stabilizing clients and addresses their mental health and substance use needs. The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Nurse assesses and evaluates client health care data collected through interviewing, observation, record review and team input. Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze assessment data to formulate the basis of nursing care. Identify expected outcomes of care, individualized to the client, with the ultimate goal of improving client’s overall health status. Administer medications per prescriber’s orders and monitor lab results as indicated. Collaborate with the staff members in providing care to clients. Maintain cooperative relationships with clients, staff and the public. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Rhode Island licensed LPN required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
