Scope of Service The Ambulatory Infusion Center will provide care to adult or pediatric patients with any condition that can be treated with intravenous (IV), intramuscular (IM), or subcutaneous (SQ) medications. Education and teaching is provided to patients by an RN and includes information regarding the disease process, drugs, side effects, procedures, protocols, and complications resulting from disease and treatment. Videos, handouts and one-on-one teaching methods are utilized. Outpatient procedures include physical examinations, the insertion of central lines, PICC lines, dressing changes, simple wound care, vital signs, weight monitoring, nursing assessments, and specimen collection. Appropriate referrals are made based on the patient needs at each visit. Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Valid Texas Nursing License or Compact Licensure/Graduate Nurse Permit Required Minimum of 1 year clinical experience.
