Job description

The Academic Advisor will provide quality academic advisement to an assigned caseload of no more than 220 first-year college students; educate students on degree requirements, policies and procedures, campus resources, and how to use advising tools and technology; counsel students experiencing academic obstacles; maintain accurate records; and assist with new student orientation. Additionally, the Academic Advisor will maintain relationships with assigned academic departments and perform other duties as assigned. Primary Responsibilities: - Provide quality academic advisement in a one-on-one setting to assigned student caseload of first-year students during the academic year and at new student orientations - Aid students in establishing realistic and attainable academic goals - Help students navigate higher education and prepare for their second year in college - Develop academic plans that support students' academic, professional, and personal goals - Educate students about degree requirements, university policies and procedures, how to access resources, and how to use advising-related tools and technology - Counsel students with identifying and overcoming academic obstacles throu...
