Job Summary The Academic Advisor I advises students concerning their academic plans and progress, academic schedule, choice of major, and other academic activities and career goals, to assist the students in making decisions concerning personal educational goals leading to graduation. Job Description: Typical Duties include but are not limited to: - Provides commitment to providing guidance in academic and personal development in a collaborative and mentoring environment. - Fosters interactions with students in a supportive atmosphere where students will achieve self-sufficiency while implementing their educational goals to reach degree completion. - Provides one-on-one, individualized advising and group advising to students within the College/Unit. - Develops a student education plan for timely graduation. - Selects appropriate courses for upcoming terms. - Reviews program re...
