Job Summary: Provides personal care and comfort services to terminally ill patients, regardless of their age, and perform related homemaker tasks in the patient/family residences or Cottingham Hospice House, in accordance with the plan of care, as assigned and supervised by the registered nurse. Essential Functions: All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Bathes patient in the bed, chair, tub or shower providing for patient's privacy, comfort and safety while doing so. Assists /provides mouth care. Shampoos, styles and/or combs patient's hair. Performs basic nail care and foot care. Shaves patient. Assists patient to dress. Assists with ambulation, transfer, use of assistive devices. Turns and positions patient. Assists patient to perform range of motion exercises. Facilitates elimination, assisting patient to use BSC, diapers, bedpan, urinal or to care for indwelling catheter or ostomy appliance.
