It's more than a career, it's a calling WI-SSM Health Outpatient Center-Madison Worker Type: Regular Job Highlights: Department: Surgery (Pre and Post Op) Schedule: Monday - Friday 36 hours per week on the day shift | No nights, holidays, weekends, or on call requirements! Location: 700 South Park St. Madison, WI This role will include preop, PACU, and stepdown at a very fast-paces surgical center. Shift times are variable beginning at 6:00 am, 7:30 am, 8:00 am, 8:30 am, 9:30 am, and 10:30 am based on department needs and case load. Shift length is currently 8-hours regardless of start time but may be all 6-hours in length if that is preferred. Job Summary: Assesses, plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care for surgical patients. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Accepts patient care assignments as directed. Communicates with clinical area team members appropriately. Correctly conducts all appropriate nursing aspects of patient assessment while using subjective and objective data. - Communicates effectively with patients to assess their knowledge of surgical/invasive procedure(s) and expectations.
