Job description

Title: Admission Counselor Position Purpose: Guided by the tenets of the Bates Mission Statement , the Admission Counselor serves as a member of the Admission team to recruit, admit, and enroll an academically talented and diverse class of students. The position will assist with various recruitment projects assigned according to previous experiences and departmental needs. Works closely with deans, counselors, operations team, campus partners, and secondary school counselors. Job Duties: travel per year; develop an annual recruitment plan and evaluate effectiveness of each activity; recommend improvements and changes in strategy as appropriate. - Manage geographic territories as assigned; coordinate 4 to 6 weeks of in-person and virtual - Represent Bates at in-person and virtual high school visits, college fairs, and other off- and on- campus recruiting events. - Work in pairs or as part of a team to evaluate first-year and transfer applications. - Lead on-campus and virtual information sessions and counsel families through the admission and financial aid process. - Engage with key constituents such as alumni, current students, high school counselors, and community-based organizati...
