Job description

The Pharmacy Technician 1, under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists with compounds and dispensing medical prescriptions and may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. The position is expected to receive and store incoming supplies, verify stock and enter data into the computer to maintain inventory records, and is expected to meet state certifications. The position requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Pharmacy and relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Education - High School diploma or Equivalent (GED) Special Skills - Good communication, customer service, and computer skills. License and certification: a Pharmacy Technician Candidate’s license or Certified Pharmacy Technician license - Technical Tasks - Courier rounds---delivers medication to inpatient patient care units when scheduled to do so. Deliver STAT medications to the inpatient patient care services locations when the product does not qualify to be sent via pneumatic tube system.
