Overview Heavy Equipment Mechanic (EAGLE 2025-24025): Bowhead seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in support of the Maintenance and Supply Divisions at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, MD. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for a variety of tasks supporting many departments but typical duties include analyzing malfunctions and repairing and rebuilding heavy equipment. This contract is governed by a CBA, and as such, any employee accepting employment on this contract will be required to join the CBA within 30 days of beginning employment. Responsibilities: Essential functions will include: - Analyzing malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains heavy equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. - Operating and inspecting machines or equipment to diagnose defects. - Dismantling and reassembling equipment, using hoists and hand tools. - Examining parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges. - Replacing defective engines and sub-assemblies, such as transmissions. - Testing and overhauling equip...
