Telemetry Monitoring Tech - Galveston (Days) - ( 2601645 ) Description EQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of EMT – Paramedic program or graduation from related allied health sciences program or one (1) year related experience. Passing score of 80% or higher of UTMB’s arrhythmia test. JOB SUMMARY: To provide specialized advanced technical skills in all technical aspects of the telemetry monitoring system. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Operates and troubleshoots all functions of the telemetry monitoring system: - Admits, transfers, and discharges patient and enters all required information in telemetry monitoring system. - Adjusts alarms. - Reviews trends and alarms. - Cleans and maintains telemetry monitors/holders and accounts for monitor upon patient discharge. - Accounts for all monitors at the end of each assigned shift. - Orders monitoring supplies. - Obtains and documents rhythm strips per unit/department standards - Maintains logbook on all monitored patients. - Provides precise continual surveillance and analysis of cardiac rhythms on electrocardiographic Central Station: - Interprets EKG rhythms. - Recognizes significant EKG events. - Communicates informatio...
