Description Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator to support residential construction by performing excavation, backfilling, and installation of underground utility services. This role is critical to maintaining production schedules while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company and code standards. Key Responsibilities: Excavation & Site Work: · Operate equipment such as mini excavators, skid steers, and trenchers · Dig trenches for: Electrical services · Maintain proper trench depth, width, and grade per plans and code Service Installation Support: · Assist crews with layout and installation of: o Conduit systems o Meter/service runs o Underground utilities o Pull service cables form meters to panels through conduit · Understand basic utility routing and clearances · Work closely with electricians, plumbers, and superintendents Backfilling & Site Restoration: · Properly backfill trenches using suitable material · Compact soil to prevent settling · Restore grade and prep for inspections or next phase of construction Safety & Compliance: · Follow all OSHA and company safety standards · Identify and avoid existing undergr...
