Job Description: The Pest Management Specialist position involves significant physical demands and requires the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions. Duties include crouching, crawling, and performing tasks outdoors in adverse weather. The role may involve exposure to stings and bites, handling and applying chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines, and the disposal of animal carcasses. To provide an environmentally controlled basis for the containment of mosquitoes throughout the County and all pest control in County operated facilities. The Pest Management Specialist will inspect designated areas to determine numbers and types of pest present and apply measures for elimination. Essential Job Functions: Identifies and treats insects and other pests; surveys for disease activity. Compiles, processes, and records data that relates to pesticide applications and disease surveillance in accordance with state and federal regulations. Assists the public, clientele, and others in accessing and making use of unit services by advising them regarding their needs and services provided.
