POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Administrative Operations Director, and in collaboration with the Chief of Laboratory Medicine and Section Medical Director, leads, manages, monitors, implements and supervises testing quality and compliance standards in the department of pathology & laboratory medicine at BMC as required. Manages multiple sub-specialty sections for the Laboratory (Blood Bank and Transfusion Services, Central Receiving Area, Chemistry, Hematology, Phlebotomy, Point of Care or Rapid Response Laboratory). Ensures maintenance of standards that meet or exceed those required for College of American Pathologist (CAP) and The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation and other external agencies (such as AABB, DPH). Maintains oversight of Lab Emergency Preparedness and Lab Safety Champions BMCs RESPECT values.
