Description Position: CUBRC’s Ahmic Aerospace location is seeking a hands-on technician to support the fabrication and integration of precision sensors for extreme aerospace test environments. This role involves fine-scale work with thermocouples, micro wiring, and sensor assemblies used in cutting-edge hypersonic research. Responsibilities: - Fabricate high-precision coaxial thermocouples using micro-TIG welding, rotary swaging, and ceramic airbrushing on fine-gauge wires (30–40 AWG) - Operate vacuum deposition systems (magnetron sputtering) to apply controlled thin-film layers to sensor assemblies - Instrument and build up wind tunnel test articles by installing, aligning, potting, and securing sensors with high precision - Route, label, and solder micro-scale wire and cable assemblies, including integration of miniature connectors - Perform electronic checkout and validation of sensor installations to ensure functionality prior to wind tunnel testing - Assist with static load calibration of complex force measurement systems, calibrate force measurement balances, and inspect subsystem equipment Qualifications: - Demonstrated experience with fine-scale soldering (down to 40 AWG wi...
