Director of Accounting

Job description

The Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining the integrity of financial data. This role works closely with executive leadership to support financial reporting, controls, and operational decision-making. This is a highly hands-on, operational role requiring a “player-coach” mindset and offers the opportunity to grow into broader finance leadership responsibilities over time. The Director will both lead and directly execute core accounting functions in a lean environment. Responsibilities: - Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness - Own the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, financial statements, and variance analysis against budget and prior year - Oversee and directly process the company’s bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution - Manage cash flow, including daily cash monitoring, A/R and A/P oversight, and short-term forecasting - Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurat...
