Childcare Provider, Part-time (Summer)

Job description

Overview This person will implement predetermined daily program activities under the guidance and direction of the Childcare Teacher. This position will begin in mid-May and is anticipated to end in August. Schedule: 8 hours Monday-Thursday; 5.5 hours Friday Qualifications: EDUCATION: - High School Diploma or GED or equivalency. Required - Fifteen (15) credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education or Special Education. Preferred - Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Preferred - Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Preferred EXPERIENCE: - Two (2) years work experience with young children (birth to 8 years) unless candidate possesses an Associate degree; OR, one (1) year experience and 15 credit hours in ECE or related discipline. Required ABILITIES AND SKILLS: - Effective oral and written communication skills. Required - Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with children and parents. Required - Sensitivity to the expectations of children and parents. Required - Knowledge of Pennsylvania regulations related to Child Care Centers. Required - Developed organizational skills.
