Minneapolis, MN: Position: Welder - 2nd shift: Team: Fabrication Team: Primary Objective of Position: A Welder is responsible for setting up, fabricating and welding complex parts using various welding processes. A Welder works with a high degree of detail adhering to safety and quality standards. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Set up and fabricate a wide variety of components using various welding processes, primarily FCAW and GMAW. - Use oxygen-acetylene, oxygen-natural gas, plasma arc and carbon-arc equipment to heat, straighten, trim and bevel ferrous and non-ferrous material. - Read drawings and routings to determine method, sequence of operation, position, tolerances and welding specifications, to include proper filler materials, fluxes and weld machine settings. - Make all necessary layouts and setups using proper tools and fabricating equipment. - Uses portable electric or air driven grinding or chipping equipment. - Perform self-inspection and documentation of welded components. - Provide feedback on rejected welded components, and may determine disposition of rework for rejection report. - Works in other areas of...
