Department: Ironton Family Health Center: Shift/schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/wk): GENERAL SUMMARY: Works under the supervision of the Family Health Center Manager and or Office Supervisor. The primary job function of the Lab Technician Assistant - Physician Office is to perform venipunctures and other specimen collections for Laboratory testing. Performs and processes electrocardiograms. Performs non-complex diagnostic testing under the supervision of Lab Manager. Prepares specimens for transport. Performs other duties as assigned. Education: Licensure: Experience: - High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required - Basic chemistry and biology are preferred - Phlebotomy certification preferred - BLS within 90 days of hire required - Three to six months of laboratory experience preferred - Previous phlebotomy experience preferred JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job.
