Seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Middletown, DE. Pay: $38 - $45 per hour (based on experience) + Benefits! Responsibilities: Qualifications: - Inspect trucks, trailers, and related systems to identify issues - Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems - Repair or replace defective parts (engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions) - Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks) - Test drive vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs - Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues - Maintain detailed service records and reports - Follow safety standards and regulations (e.g., DOT compliance) - High school diploma or GED (required) - Technical training in diesel mechanics (preferred) - Certification such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) is a plus - 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle repair - CDL is preferred or able to be obtained Required Skills: - Extremely strong ability to diagnose - Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems - Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail - Basic computer skills (for dia...
